Partnership
Liverpool European Partnership grew from the success of the Liverpool European Festival (LEF) delivered in 2023 to coincide with the city hosting Eurovision. The main aim of the Festival was to raise awareness of the European minorities living in the city by delivering a series of events presenting their art, culture and heritage.
In the first year, the Festival was developed with 27 partners and chosen as the finalist in the Community Cohesion Award category for the Liverpool City Region Culture & Creativity Award.
The LEF, and its working group, inspired much wider vision, including:
- Children & young people
- Higher education & research
- Business & investment
- Advocacy & campaigning
and led to establishing of the new Liverpool European Partnership CIC.
One of the important parts of the process of delivery was capacity building and learning from each other. It was clear that if the European community organisations would have a shared working and delivery space, the capacity building could be accelerated, which led to the idea of establishing Liverpool European Centre as a one-stop shop for the European minorities.

If you want to go far, go together.African proverb
