Global Liverpool celebrates the roots and routes that brought us to Liverpool and started in 2020 as a small information session funded by the Our Liverpool programme to raise awareness about the EU Settlement Scheme. From the outset it was designed to provide information and advice, alongside raising awareness and celebrating multiculturalism. Until 2023 it was delivered by Citizens Advice Liverpool and in collaboration with the Liverpool Access to Advice Network grew into an annual event providing support and a platform for the lived experiences of our migrant communities. Since 2024 Granby Toxteth Development Fund has helped with developing Global Liverpool Limited which works in partnership with the In Limbo Project and Black Europeans to organise the event “Black Europeans” as part of Liverpool European Festival. We highlight the diversity of European citizens and bring a focus on the lives and beautiful cultures of ethnic minorities while also raising awareness of issues they encounter and how to remedy these. Since 2025 we run an ongoing therapeutic art project reclaiming our images and identities from the distorted eVisa photos created by the Home Office and each year expand our artistic and cultural offerings.
