John Paul II Polish Saturday School in Liverpool

The history of the John Paul II Polish Saturday School in Liverpool began on 17 September 2005. The mission of our school is to showcase and promote Polish culture and traditions. Through teaching the Polish language, history and geography, as well as through joint meetings and organised celebrations, we can nurture and build national and patriotic awareness among successive generations growing up outside Poland.

Since the school was founded, we have been participating in many local events, such as the Lord Mayor’s Parade, the Newsham Park Art Festival, and others organised by the Consulate in Manchester and Polish community organisations, such as the International Day of Languages.

We also carry out our own projects. We organise cultural and sporting events, such as music workshops with pianist and conductor Marcin Głucha, acting workshops, Children’s Day, Sports Day, Nativity plays, and Polish Heritage Day, celebrated on the initiative of the Polish Ambassador in London.

We are affiliated with the Liverpool European Festival, Polish Educational Society and the Liverpool Supplementary Schools Network. We also belong to the National Resource Centre for Supplementary Education (NRCSE).
